Maybe it is something every individual must have experienced, at some point or the other. It is on occasions when you are unable to control your hunger any longer that you get to experience the most underwhelming of eating experiences. This happens to be a story of one such experience, and its long-term implication.

Having made multiple trips to Spain, and visited most of its major regions that may or may not be touristy, I have a particular liking for the country’s eclectic cuisine. Among other things, I cherished Paella the most.

Paella consists of rice, beans and meat (often chicken) that is seasoned with spices and cooked in olive oil. At places, they add shrimps and other seafood items as a garnish. That being said, there is a seafood version of the dish as well. It goes without saying that Paella, in any form, is capable of satisfying the taste buds. More importantly, it is filling. In fact, I believe that Spanish siesta is a manifestation of consumption of such heavy food.

I t is a strange coincidence that I was first suggested Paella during a visit to Valencia. It is during that lunch session that I became aware of the fact that this dynamic preparation has its origins in the Valencia region.
