I had the most delightful pregnancy one could hope to have

I was joyous and hopeful

I went to prenatal yoga classes regularly

I was writing and performing sketch comedy, taking our show to comedy festivals, dancing in a Bollywood number for our finale (even at eight months preggo)

My unemployed husband was home a lot, which I loved

We spent hours together, feeling the kicks of our little one in my belly, laughing, and having amazing sex

Truly some of the best sex I’ve ever had was when I was pregnant, especially the last trimester

We binge watched several seasons of Dexter and would stay up until one or two in the morning enjoying our last days of a childless home

We were so free, so happy and so in love

My delivery was very fast

It’s actually called a “speedster” birth

Contractions started at 8:30 p.m. and my son was born at 1:39 a.m.

I pushed for two hours and had third degree tearing

I was tired but so grateful

The doctor handed me my beautiful boy
