My Sexual Awakening Was Written in the Stars
Charting our astrology helped us find a higher love.

Our first date ended at my place.
In entering my pastel-colored bedroom in my first off-campus apartment, he gravitated toward my bookshelf and stopped to examine its contents. After a little while, he sat down on the floor, made himself comfortable, and ignored me for an hour in favor of exploring my collection of items from the occult; it might help to know my Dom is a scientist on the spectrum.
One of the books he dove into, the “Little Giant Encyclopedia: The Zodiac”, fell open to the start of the chapter about Pisces, so worn-in that where the binding first broke, the pages only clung by a single thread.
In his usual pattern of fixating on a topic until exhaustion, my Dom went on to learn much more about astrology than I ever did. He loves that I bring new and interesting subjects to his attention.
We long knew our astrological charts and how they operate together on an emotional level. However, I realized we never used those charts as guides to inform other critical aspects of our lives, like sexual intimacy.
It is not an easy match, my Dom (sun-Gemini) and me (sun-Pisces). But, it’s hard and fast and true. That much, I remembered about our predicted compatibility.
Decades after he devoured the chunky, little worn-in book, I dove back into astrology as an initial effort to fix what felt like to me, an incomplete life. “Maybe the answers were in the stars,” I mused.
Even though we had what most would probably consider a great sex life (connecting intimately every day with orgasmic sex 5–6 times a week…), I felt something was missing.
Like nearly all the other recent times I found wisdom when first intellectually lost, it started with a Google search: “Pisces Gemini Astrology Sexual Compatibility” which led to an informative site called Sexual Astrology (.com). About our general compatibility in a relationship, they said:
Gemini and Pisces are a match no one sees coming. … in most ways, they are total opposites. For example, Gemini is bold, brash, and outgoing. Pisces is quiet, introverted, and off in their own little world…
