HUMOR
Rage, Rage Against The Dying Of The Snow Day
Damn you, remote learning
You grew up in snowy lands, hating school as nature intended. Therefore, you know the magic of your parents’ words at your door in the morning darkness:
“Snow Day!”
You remember praising God then asking forgiveness for what you prayed the night before.
The Night Before
“God, if you can’t make this storm big enough to stop school…maybe Satan can?”
Then you grew up.
“Snow Day!” began to mean something else. It meant, “Today, instead of going to work, I get to risk my life going to work.”
Few grownups are allowed to continue loving the days that belong to snow. These grownups are called “teachers.” They’re called this even if they’ve become burned out husk-people or have not been gifted with the ability to teach.
As the saying goes, “Those who can’t teach, do often teach for decades.”
