My somewhat poorly-thought-out wedding vows had me promising, in front of family and friends, to “love, honour, and humour” my husband; the last bit harder has been harder than it sounds sometimes. I also threw in a line that I’d follow him wherever his ambitions take him, a vow that saw me packing up and moving to Medicine Hat, Alberta, about seven months later.
